The Warren Ranch High School property was donated by the Warren Family, who have lived and raised Brahma Cattle on the land for the past 150 years. They are 5th-generation cattle farmers whose legacy in the community runs deep. The administration decided to name the high school after the Warren family in honor of their generous gift and the legacy they have established in the community.
The Problem
Waller ISD, a school district on the outskirts of Houston, TX, was looking to build its second high school in the district’s history. Capturing an identity that resonated with the community and represented the Warren family was critical for such a meaningful project.
The Solution
After a deep dive into the history of Warren Ranch Farms, for which the school was named, our team created an iconic visual logo system that characterized its values and set it apart from other schools in the district. Our design solution embodies the Warren Ranch school and community.
School Logo
Not every school uses an academic logo as part of its brand identity. The Waller ISD team realized this would be another way to set Warren Ranch High School apart as a premier high school.
Sports Logo
With the creation of the new school, identifying a unique mascot is key to helping the school stand out. Because Warren Ranch is a cattle farm, choosing the Brahma as the school mascot was a unique and obvious way to honor the family history.
Welcome To The Ranch
Custom Typography
One additional element of this project was designing a custom, system-programmed font for the school’s marketing materials. We based the letterforms on the custom logotype created during the sports program’s branding. Using these as a starting point, we developed a fully custom font that distinguishes the school from its peers!
